hello everyone! I'm about to go to the sauna for the first time this weekend. Idk which sauna or what kind of sauna my friend is going to take me, but I have one question

do you guys use sauna hat? should I bring my own towel or bathrobe? Should I wear a swimsuit or go all down like in the japanese saunas?

Any advice is welcome!

I don't use sauna hat. I like the extra heat but if you wanna protect your hair or something, you can always use one. About the towel, bring one! Bathrobe is nice to have but it's not really required. Swimsuit, depends on the culture. Just ask your friend what they do there. Don't forget to stay hydrated!

I'd say two towels, one to sit on and the other for drying off. The robe is good for going out between sessions, but not exactly a necessity. The same with the hat

Sauna hat isn't necessary then to swimsuits, it depends on the type of sauna and local customs, in many European saunas, it's normal to go nude (with a towel though), but in public or mixed gender places, swimsuits might be required
