is an infrared sauna cost really worth the hassle?

my parents are thinking about buying an infrared sauna from my dad's friend.
It's a brand new 4 person model for only $1K, which seems like a great deal, but they'd have to do a bunch of work in their basement to set it up and run new electrical.
My parents already have a hot tub, but they like the idea of switching things up.

The thing is, I've heard mixed stuff about infrared saunas.
Do they really not get as hot as traditional ones? And I know that infrared sauna cost are quite expensive, but are they actually worth the investment for the health benefits?
I'm curious to know how often you guys with saunas actually use them, and are the energy bills going to be extremely expensive?

Mine gets used a few times a week, in winter but for now its like every other week because I dont always have the time. Power costs aren't bad at all compared to a hot tub, its way cheaper to run. For $1K, if they're willing to set it up, it's not a bad way to try one out
