White pine for sauna builds

Is white pine okay for sauna builds? Cedar's pretty pricey where I am, so I'm checking out alternatives. Read diff opinions about pine and its resin, but haven't seen proof it's a problem in making cedar saunas.

Just curious if in Norway they use pine much for saunas? I figure wood choice is mostly about what's available locally. Around here, we got good access to white pine, and hemlock. Thoughts?

White pine is a good option for building cedar saunas, but you should steer clear of resinous spots close to the heaters. In Nordic countries, pine and hemlock are popular choices. Also, no matter what type of wood you go with, make sure there's proper ventilation.
